Depth-Oriented Psychotherapy

Helping You Heal Through Shadow Work, Inner Child Healing, Parts Work, and Ego Integration

Why People Seek Depth-Oriented Psychotherapy

Many people seek therapy because they feel trapped in the same emotional patterns, relationships, or ways of responding to life. These patterns often reflect unresolved experiences carried by the inner child, hidden aspects of the shadow, or protective parts of the personality that once served an important purpose.

My approach combines depth-oriented psychotherapy, Jungian psychology, shadow work, inner child healing, parts work, attachment theory, and ego integration to help uncover the unconscious patterns shaping emotional life.

Together, we explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion so lasting change can emerge from deeper understanding rather than temporary symptom relief.

What is Depth-Oriented Psychotherapy?

Depth-oriented psychotherapy looks beneath symptoms to understand the deeper emotional patterns shaping your thoughts, relationships, behaviors, and sense of Self.

Rather than asking only "How do we reduce anxiety?" or "How do we stop this behavior?", this approach asks what these experiences may be communicating and how they developed in the first place.

Drawing from Jungian psychology, depth psychology, attachment theory, developmental psychology, parts work, and ego integration, our work explores the unconscious adaptations that once helped you survive but may no longer support the life you want to live today.

The goal is not simply to eliminate symptoms, but to cultivate greater self-awareness, emotional flexibility, and a more integrated relationship with yourself.

Who Is This Work For?

Depth-oriented psychotherapy may be a good fit if you find yourself:

  • Repeating the same relationship patterns

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself

  • Living with perfectionism, shame, or chronic self-criticism

  • Struggling with attachment wounds or childhood experiences

  • Navigating major life transitions or identity changes

  • Feeling stuck despite years of personal growth

  • Longing to understand yourself more deeply rather than simply manage symptoms

  • Interested in shadow work, inner child healing, ego integration, or Jungian psychology

This work is particularly well suited for individuals who value reflection, curiosity, and a willingness to explore the deeper psychological patterns shaping their lives.

My Approach

My work combines depth-oriented psychotherapy, Jungian psychology, attachment theory, shadow work, inner child healing, parts work, and ego integration to help uncover the unconscious patterns that shape emotional life.

Together we explore how early experiences, protective adaptations, symbolic material, and recurring emotional themes continue influencing the present so these patterns can be understood with curiosity rather than judgment.

Rather than trying to eliminate every uncomfortable emotion, we seek to understand the wisdom each pattern may hold and determine whether it still serves the life you want to create.

How We Work Together

Every person's story is different. Rather than following a rigid protocol, depth-oriented psychotherapy is tailored to your history, goals, relationships, and inner experience.

Depending on your needs, our work may include:

  • Shadow work

  • Inner child healing

  • Ego integration

  • Parts work

  • Attachment-focused exploration

  • Dreams and symbolic material

  • Archetypal perspectives

  • Mindfulness and observer consciousness

  • Meaning-making following profound life experiences

Sessions are collaborative, reflective, and paced according to your readiness rather than a predetermined timeline.

Is This the Right Fit?

This approach may be a good fit if you're looking for depth-oriented psychotherapy that helps you understand why the same emotional patterns, relationship dynamics, or inner conflicts continue to repeat—and integrate them in ways that foster lasting growth, greater self-awareness, and inner harmony.

It may not be the best fit if you're looking exclusively for short-term symptom management or highly structured, skills-based therapy without exploring the underlying patterns contributing to your concerns.

Frequently Asked Questions About Depth-Oriented Psychotherapy

Answers to common questions about Depth-Oriented Psychotherapy, and working together.

What is depth-oriented psychotherapy?

Depth-oriented psychotherapy explores the unconscious emotional patterns shaping your thoughts, relationships, behaviors, and sense of self. Rather than focusing only on symptom relief, it seeks to understand the deeper roots of emotional suffering so lasting change can emerge.

Is ketamine integration therapy the same as ketamine treatment?

No.

Ketamine treatment refers to the medical administration of ketamine by a licensed healthcare provider.

Ketamine integration therapy focuses on what happens before and after treatment—helping you prepare for the experience, understand what emerged, and integrate those insights into lasting psychological and emotional growth.

How is depth-oriented psychotherapy different from traditional therapy?

While many therapies focus on reducing symptoms, depth-oriented psychotherapy also explores why those symptoms developed. Together we examine recurring emotional patterns, attachment experiences, and unconscious adaptations that continue influencing the present.

What is ego integration?

Ego integration is the process of developing a more compassionate relationship with the wounded, protective, hidden, and conflicting parts of yourself. Rather than eliminating these parts, we seek to understand them and help them work together with greater flexibility and awareness.

Do you use shadow work and inner child healing?

Yes. Shadow work and inner child healing are two of several approaches that may be incorporated into therapy when they support your goals. Every treatment plan is individualized rather than following a single method.

Is this the same as Jungian therapy?

Jungian psychology is one of the primary influences on my work, but my approach also integrates attachment theory, developmental psychology, ego integration, parts work, and transpersonal psychology to create a flexible, individualized approach.

What concerns can depth-oriented psychotherapy help with?

People often seek this work for recurring relationship patterns, perfectionism, attachment wounds, anxiety, grief, identity transitions, childhood trauma, spiritual questions, and a desire for deeper self-understanding.

Do I need to have experienced trauma?

No. Many people pursue depth-oriented psychotherapy because they notice recurring emotional patterns or feel disconnected from themselves, even without identifying a specific traumatic event.

Is this service available in person?

No. I currently offer all of my services exclusively through secure virtual sessions.

Virtual sessions make it possible to receive thoughtful preparation and integration support from wherever you feel most comfortable. It also allows me to be highly intentional about the work I do. Psychotherapy services are available only to clients who are physically located in Florida, Idaho, or Arizona at the time of each session.
